Another big passion of his is collecting, restoring and modifying vintage audio equipment and microphones to use them in a modern production enviornment.
By far the most ambitious of these projects, a one-of-a-kind Mastering Equalizer of unparalleled quality, functionality and size, named the "FREIFELD Spectrum Shaper" finally saw the light of day in late 2019, after designing and prototyping for almost six years with the help of his friend Klaus Trippl of TRIKTRONICS.

The thin line between the technical and the artistic side of things runs right through Yannilos work. When not on stage or in the studio, he has worked as an engineer, doing technical consulting and acoustic design for musicians, studios and venues, as well as live sound at clubs, concert halls and festivals such as Reaktor Wien, Porgy&Bess, Wiener Konzerthaus, Brucknerhaus Linz, Wien Modern, Jazzfestival Saalfelden, Elevate Graz and many more..
